Roofing
A roof is the first line of protection for a building. It must withstand temperature extremes, wind, rain, hail, and fire. A roof should also compliment the design of the building. Today's roofing materials bring together form and function to create a safe and attractive roof.
Asphalt Shingle
Asphalt shingle is one of the most common roofing materials. The shingles are easy to install, relatively inexpensive, and come in a wide range of colors. However, they have a relatively short lifespan and they are not environmentally friendly.
Wood Shingle
A wood shingle roof provides an environmentally friendly alternative to asphalt shingles. New shingles are honey-toned and fade to a lovely gray over time. This material can last up to thirty years if properly installed and maintained. On the downside, wood shingles require professional installation and are high maintenance.
Metal
Metal roofs can be installed on top of other materials. The come in a wide range of colors and styles. Metal roofs are durable, lasting up to fifty years. They are environmentally friendly, and can withstand extreme weather conditions. However, metal roofs require professional installation and are more expensive than other materials.
